I assume you need to download the file and then extract the data from it, so that you end up with an archive that contains the two downloaded files.
A quick way to do this is using my Mac's built in Archive Utility (it can be found in the Utilities folder):
Open it
Select "Open"
Drag the file onto the window
Select "Open"
That should do the trick.
The TTC is planning to introduce the world's first all-electric transit vehicles in the fall of 2018.
The new vehicle will replace the existing two-car fleet of older TTC streetcars as part of a five-year plan that will see the entire light-rail vehicle fleet replaced by 2018.
But the new cars won't be cheap.
The Toronto Transit Commission wants to spend $150 million on the new cars, but it's not expected to cover the entire cost of the project.
The budget for the cars, which is $5.9 million more than the current streetcars, will come from the proposed sale of $6 billion in subway stations and other infrastructure.
That will help pay for the new vehicles, but the TTC says the sale won't be enough to cover the entire cost.
In a release on Wednesday, the TTC said the move will make it easier to expand the subway fleet by taking vehicles out of service for as long as two years without having to pay for that time.
At the same time, the new fleet will replace the streetcars with "a new model of more reliable, cleaner and more energy efficient vehicles," the TTC said.
The electric vehicles are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by one-third when compared with the vehicles currently used, the release said.
TTC chair Karen Stintz told the Toronto Sun the move was a response to concerns about the environmental impact of the existing fleet.
